Houston Glass is a higher education leader, former Division I student-athlete, and community builder dedicated to expanding access and opportunity through athletics and education. As Associate Director of Admissions – Athletics & Community Engagement at Calvin University, he serves as the liaison between Athletics and Enrollment Strategy, helping prospective student-athletes navigate the college decision process by connecting them with campus resources, coaches, and faculty.

 

He has contributed to record-breaking incoming classes while advancing strategies that support first-generation students, underrepresented populations, and student-athlete success. Serving as the NCAA Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Designee (ADID) and multiple campus elected committees, Houston continuously works to ensure students are supported holistically across the board whether academically in school, professionally in their careers and successful in their sports. Born in Battle Creek and raised in Grand Rapids, Glass was a former East Kentwood All-American multi-sport athlete, he competed in football at the University at Buffalo, where he earned his degree in Sociology and African American Studies and will graduate with a master’s in Educational Leadership at Calvin this upcoming Fall.

His journey has been wide from a youth advocate and coach to an athletic director, entrepreneur, and now a higher education leader. Houston Glass reflects a deep commitment to mentor our youth and deepen our community to not only access college but truly thrive once they step foot on campus.
